Blue Volley Video Features
Blue Volley Video is built for coaches and parents. Every feature targets the friction of weekend tournaments and film review.
Courtside Capture: Volley Video Recorder (Android)
- Pre-roll and extension: the Recorder keeps a rolling buffer. Tap after the play and it saves the 10 seconds before your tap and 5 seconds after it (both adjustable up to 30 seconds). Tap again before those seconds run out and the same clip keeps going.
- Leather-and-chrome dark theme: a rugged dark interface that stays readable in bright gyms, and dims the screen after 20 seconds (adjustable) to save battery.
- Bluetooth clicker support: works with the phone's volume keys and with inexpensive generic Bluetooth camera remotes (like this 3-pack for $7.99). Click from the sideline to save a play without touching the phone.
- Metadata sidecars: every game gets
clips.jsonandgame.jsonnext to the video (1080p at 60 fps or 4K at 30 fps), with the exact time of every tap and, if you allow location access, a one-time venue location. - Optional Google Drive export: sign in with Google to copy a game (from the Games list, or your latest game from Settings) to a
VolleyRecorderfolder in your own Drive. Nothing is uploaded unless you use it.
Film Review: Volley Video Editor (macOS, Windows, Linux)
- Tap markers on the timeline: the Editor reads the tap times saved by the Recorder and marks them on the timeline. Click a marker to jump straight to that play, or skip back and forward 5 seconds.
- One-click highlight reel: Export Highlights cuts a 10-second clip around every marker and joins them into one
highlights_reel.mp4. Clips are copied, not re-encoded, so export is fast. - Runs on your computer: editing and export run locally with FFmpeg. Nothing is uploaded and no internet connection is needed.
- Optional Google Drive import: sign in with Google to download the games your phone exported to Drive into the Editor's library.
